Carmel Beach boasts particularly stunning sunsets in the autumn. At times the sky can turn the most intense colors, from liquid amber to flame orange and even deep red. But how does one capture the essence of the sunset in a fragrance? It is more of the feeling you get when you are lucky enough to see one of Carmel’s dramatic sunsets.
Often Carmelites sit on the beach and watch the sunset while gathered around a bonfire, so we used some fiery fragrance elements in this candle, including black pepper and spicy ginger. The sky can turn as red as a deep red rose, so we have brought in a little bit of a burnt rose floral note in the middle. We follow that with base notes of vanilla bean and smoky cedar.
